Standing united for sindh: AT invites ANP to rally on Sunday
The rally has been organised to remember activists who were killed in the Muhabbat-e-Sindh rally on May 22.
KARACHI:
A delegation of Awami Tehreek (AT) held a meeting on Wednesday with leaders of the Awami National Party (ANP) at Bacha Khan Markaz. The purpose of the meeting was to invite ANP’s Sindh division to take part in the ‘Shaheedan-e-Muhabbat-e-Sindh Jalsa’, which is going to be held this Sunday at Gabol Park, Lyari. The rally has been organised to remember the activists who were killed in an attack on the Muhabbat-e-Sindh rally on May 22. Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Sindh general secretary of ANP, Bashir Jan, said that his party is against the division of the province. “We will not tolerate any move to divide Sindh and we are facing the consequences in Karachi for taking this stance,” he said. He added his party’s provincial think tank will meet to decide the extent to which it will take part in the rally. The general secretary of AT, Anwar Soomro, said that his party has an old relationship with ANP. “Pakhtuns respect us and have made scarifies for the progress and prosperity of Sindh,” he said.
