During the press conference at the Marriot Hotel, Shafay, wearing a two-piece suit was flanked by his family members and a trainer, and was seated at the centre of the stage with his feet dangling from his chair.
But when ProPakistani contacted Microsoft regarding the claim, it was confirmed that Shafay’s certification is legitimate, but surprisingly the claim of being the world’s youngest MCTS could not be verified as Microsoft does not count the age of its professionals.
On the one hand, ProPakistani claimed that Shafay’s guardians went a “step ahead” to hire a PR agency to organise the press conference to “push their son to the media” rather than pulling the media, while on the other hand, Shafay’s father said that the family was hiding this from the media that Shafay is attempting to become the world’s youngest MCTS.
“But now when he has finally got through the certification successfully, this is worth celebrating,” said Dr Shah Thobani. “Today I stand here not as a father, but as a proud Pakistani.”
According to ProPakistani, Microsoft is worried about these self-proclaimed child prodigies, who have been surfacing very often now – some of them even being fake.
When contacted by ProPakistani, a Microsoft official said that the company has already ‘disowned’ Shafay for his claim of being the “world’s youngest MCTS” and also announced that Microsoft does not keep track of ages of its certified professionals.

Ppl !! stop being corny. Instead of arguing about his age and certifications, y not appreciate and celebrate the talent pakistan possess?. Sure MCTS doesnt value much, but at his age, one shud say the child is bright. Please stop being cry babies all the time.
I mean seriously, does the MCTS carry any value ? And these people are getting this certification for their kids? This is beyond ridiculous.

oh c'mon send them to a prometric center and all these kiddos will fail.
Huh, the kids these days.
I pity these kids. Why are their parents so desperate to use them in such a way. Also, only in Pakistan and India you find people trying to find a short cut to genius, rather than having passion for science, tech or other fields..
@concerned citizen: i guess you already have digested this cake.isnt? dont be negative,a kid at this age is better than the aged 40 and sitting and wasting their qualifications on cleric seats.i suggest of positive thinking for your own long life.
Look .. whether he used dumps or some other way of mugging up the questions is moot. At teh age of 8 when most kids are playing video games or watching cartoons, this kid has taken the time and effort to study a technology that people a decade older would consider. While I agree that his family is trying to cash in on his achievement and achieve cheap publicity, that in no way reduces the merit of this certification. Even if someone has to memorize 500 questions and reproduce them ... doing it at the age of 8 requires above average ability.
Congratulations !!!!
Self Proclaimed Youngest Microsoft Professional is exposed watch his latest video which he claimed him self as youngest Microsoft Professional http://goo.gl/kFIc3
I remember even in 1999 we had a peon in a training center who did not even know how to read, write or understand english was able to pass the exam, as he had the dumps and was told how to identify a question and which option to click in that case. This is totally farce. Some people are really making these certifications meaningless and maligning the name of the Pakistani people!
@Aftab: I am MCSE, passed all 7 exams in two weeks, had to memorise questions from transcenders. and i KID not
these exams must really be a piece of cake.
@truth detector: I can't agree more on your point. We have so many cases every year, the youngest this and the youngest that, what they become after they get in professional life is more important. None of the great IT people we know had any of such young age title. All they had was the able to think and practically implement what they think. I seriously don't think this even is a news!!! Eight years old can't even wash his poop effectively how do you expect him to show some professionalism!
WOW ! seem to be some day a 4 year old kid will say i have done MESC certification :).awesome...........Courgeous Step of little angle..........
i guess the boy has read enough material related to network and communication in this tiny age, and if their parents can afford marketing, what's bad in that? A Pro Pakistani can blog about that in that manner, but it seems etribune Web is also managed in blogger style.
For all the audience who took time in coming here, A better read about this kid can be found on below link.

@Awans: Absolutely right. Just search on google and Brain dumps are easily available. Noe because of dumps many interviewers dont hire new graduates as without experience thay are nothing as brain dumps in Pakistani market cost you 5-10000 rupees and you can pass the exam easily. I dont why in every form of worldwide corruption ojr name always comes first.
I never understand this obsession of Microsoft certifications in Pakistan. No other country cares about it.
WOW ! seem to be some day a 4 year old kid will say i have done MESC certification :).
@Awans. What you said seems to be very accurate. I tend to agree.
In Pakistan there is one thing known as Dumps. Just ask any IT GURU what is meant by Dump. It is a collection of Papers like a group of 100 questions which are repeated almost everytime. Our country is Corrupt and now Dumps have ruined Certifications. Now CCNA, Microsoft certifications and Oracle certificates have no importance since Dumps have destroyed the Real training in true sense as now without training just cramming the Dumps give you wonders.
Now we all know the standard of Microsoft certifications....
Seems quite lame show-off. Who gives a damn to MCTS, what is achieved later on in life is important.
Surprise ! that Microsoft does not keep track of ages of its certified professionals.
These exams can be passed easily, especially here in Pakistan peopel use transcenders to ratafy. The way his father has shown him is beyond understanding. Its ridiculous,.
