RAWALPINDI:

Sasta Ramazan Bazaars will be set up in Rawalpindi district to provide some relief to consumers during the upcoming lunar month.

According to a city district government spokesman, 14 bazaars will be set up in the district. The city district government is in the process of finalising arrangements for establishing the bazaars to ensure availability of quality food items on subsidised rates.

Products of daily use will be available at subsidised rates, 15 to 30 per cent less than open markets rates, he added.

Special price control magistrates would be appointed in each bazaar to keep a check on the prices and quality of the items sold.

Price magistrates will also check rates in the open market, particularly during Ramazan and those involved in profiteering will be heavily fined, he revealed.
