Kidnapped for ransom: Boy rescued, kidnappers arrested
Kidnappers demanded Rs20 million as ransom.

Unidentified persons kidnapped a teenage boy for ransom, who managed to escape their custody, said police on Tuesday. Police quoted a local jeweller Tahir Lodhi as saying that his son, Hassam Lodhi, a college was returning home on Monday when two unidentified persons kidnapped him near their house. Tahir said two men forcibly took his son to Thati Syedan Sherwan village in Abbottabad and locked him a room. They called Tahir from Hassam’s cell phone, demanding Rs20 million as ransom. However, soon after making the call, the kidnappers stepped out of the house. As Hassam cried for help, some villagers reached the spot and rescued him. The police has arrested the kidnappers and sent the boy home.
