Property fraud: Folk singer’s plea adjourned for 12th

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Ayoub Khan Marth has adjourned till July 12 arguments on a petition filed by folk singer Akram Rahi seeking a case against four men and one woman for alleged fraud. The case was not heard on Saturday due to a lawyers’ strike in protest at the restoration of NATO supplies through Pakistan. The petitioner says he paid over Rs10.5 million for a five-marla plot in Sabzazar, but the title was never transferred to his name. He has asked the court to direct the Allama Iqbal police station house officer to register a case against Muhammad Afzal Alvi, Muhammad Azam, Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Kamran Butt and Jameela Shahida.
