Road accident: 12 injured, 1 killed in separate accidents

Police said that a Suzuki Ravi was going to Mansehra from Baffa when it collided with a passenger van

At least 12 people including five children were injured when a passenger van collided head-on with a school van here on Friday.


Eyewitnesses and police said that a Suzuki Ravi was going to Mansehra from Baffa, carrying schoolchildren and teachers when it collided with a passenger van near Doraha College. As a result, the school van turned turtle, injuring eight students, one teacher, a passerby and drivers of both the vehicles.

The injured were taken to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital from where five children were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex (AMC) Abbottabad, where their condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a college student was killed after falling from the back of a Suzuki Ravi in Haripur. Police said that Ahmed, son of Abdul Rauf of Kotnajibullah village was travelling on the back of a Suzuki pickup to Haripur when he fell on the road near Kangra Colony. He died of head injury.
