Netherlands: Pakistani mangos go on display at expo

KARACHI: The Pakistani mango went on display in the Dutch city of Rotterdam at the 9th Annual Exhibition of Pakistani Mangos. The Netherlands is the second largest importer and re-exporter of mangos in the world. The expo was organised by the Commercial Wing of the Pakistan Embassy in The Hague, with support from the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC), says a message received here on Friday. Ten varieties of Pakistani mangoes – including the Chaunsa, Sindhri, Dusehri, Anwar Retol, Sunehra, Badami, Langra, Fajri and Malda – were displayed. A large number of Dutch buyers visited the business-to-business event. The first session was dedicated to trade visitors. In the second session, diplomatic corps members, functionaries of the Dutch government, and Dutch consumers visited and appreciated the sweet and aromatic fruit. The Netherlands, which accounts for 56% of the entire mango imports of Europe, is an important market for Pakistani mangoes.
