BAHAWALPUR:

A woman has reported her husband to police for shaving her head and detaining her for two days.

Shazia Bibi*, a resident of Jinnah Colony in Chak 20, submitted in her complaint to Liaquatpur police that her husband Muhammad Ali* had  alleged  that she was seeing another man during the hours she was away for work. She said she had taken up a job as a domestic servant to help sustain their family of seven as Ali was often unemployed.

On Tuesday, she said, her husband tied her to a charpoy and shaved her head following an argument over her job. She said he then locked her in a room.

She said for two days she was given no food or water. She managed to unlock the door and escape on Thursday.

Liaqatpur Station House Officer Muhammad Aslam said raids were underway to arrest the suspect. He was not found at home during a raid at his residence in Chak No20, he added.
