KARACHI:

Young Rising Stars FC crushed Eagle FC 5-1 in the final of the Islamabad leg to qualify for the next round of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Inter-Club Championship.

The defending champions opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Saher Zaman and Bushra Jamali doubled the lead just three minutes later before adding her second in the 22nd minute. Roshna reduced the deficit in the 37th minute but Young Rising Stars continued to dominate in the second half. Sana scored in the 61st minute and Aneela Naz sealed the result in the 76th minute.

Young Rising Stars FC join Diya FC, The City FC (Karachi), LSE (Lahore), Vehari FC (Bahawalpur) and Balochistan United FC (Quetta) and the teams will vie for the title in December. “It’s going to be tougher as we’d be taking on better teams,” a Young Rising Club FC official told The Express Tribune. Meanwhile, Diya FC manager and coach Sadia Sheikh said the gap between the two legs was not a good move by the PFF.
