Seminar: Economic empowerment for PWDs urged

Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their integration in mainstream income generation activities is essential for an inclusive society.


This was stated by speakers while addressing a seminar to commemorate “One Year of the Ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD)” on Thursday.

Secretary CADD distributed 10 sewing machines, assistive aids and three laptops among PWDs.

Some 10 PWDs were provided micro-credit amounting to Rs35,000, while another 10 were provided jobs in international food chains.
