The Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) has expressed reservations over the amendment bills of the dual nationality and the contempt of court law, Express News reported on Thursday. According to sources, the party will oppose both the bills.

The PML-N, criticising the contempt of court amendment bill, said that the bill is equivalent to restricting the judiciary's authority.

The Awami National Party (ANP) also expressed reservations over the amendment bill for the dual nationality law, and said that the law should only be applicable for presidents, prime ministers, the army leadership and judges.

Haji Adeel, a central leader of the government allied ANP, presented the party’s stance when he was contacted by President Asif Ali Zardari.

Adeel said, “If such laws are not enforced, then people like Mansoor Ijaz can also become the president of Pakistan one day.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the federal cabinet had approved amendment bills pertaining to dual nationality and contempt of court laws.

It was ordered in the cabinet session that the dual nationality amendment bill be brought before the National Assembly for discussion and approval.

@ faheem ZARDARI was elected through a proper democratic process by two third majority's choice National assembly ,provincial assemblies ,senate all voted and PMLN had a disgruntled judge as its candidate, He will be elected again and your courts will not be able to do a thing and in any case it will be Imran khan who will win next election if not PPP the parallel govt of JUDGES AND LAWYERS will have seen it becoming irrelevant as it was in the past

Even though I support PML-N on almost every issue but not on the contempt of law. I think it should be amended as the biased judges are getting way out of their limits.
