Robbery: Gold worth Rs4m looted

RAWALPINDI: Two armed men deprived a jeweller of a large quantity of gold in Sheikh Rasheed Market on Wednesday. Muhammad Shahid told the Waris Khan Police that the robbers intercepted him as he was stepping down from the fourth floor of a foundry with 800 grams of gold. Upon resistance, they injured him with a knife and snatched the gold worth Rs4 million before fleeing from the area. The police, upon receiving information, reached the spot and shifted the injured to District Headquarters Hospital. The police said Shahid was the owner of Al-Amin Foundry in Bhabra Bazaa but he used to refine gold at a foundry in Sheikh Rasheed Market.
