Suspicions: Acid victim dies at hospital

FAISALABAD: An elderly woman, injured in an acid attack allegedly by her son-in-law on July 2, died at the hospital on Wednesday. Saddar Tandlianwala police said Sarwar Bibi, a resident of Chak 411-GB, had suspected her son-in-law of infidelity. They said she had reproached him several times. On Monday night, he broke into her home and threw acid at her. He was caught and handed over to the police. The injured was taken to Allied Hospital by her family. She died after two days in intensive care. The suspect will be presented before a judicial magistrate today for physical remand.
