Subsidised tractors: ‘20,000 farmers will benefit’

KHANEWAL: At least 20,000 farmers would get tractors on subsidised rates this year, Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh said on Wednesday. He was addressing an open court at Jinnah Library. He said the government had earmarked Rs4 billion for this purpose. He said the government would introduce 9,000 water-tributaries to irrigate farms. The government was also spending Rs35 billion on introducing laser-assisted land leveling and sprinkle irrigation besides launching research projects to improve yields of rice, wheat and cotton.
