Pakistan post: Money orders worth Rs16b dispatched

Pakistan Post Office has dispatched around 8.62 million money orders along with funds of Rs17.243 billion to BISP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Post Office has dispatched around 8.62 million money orders along with funds of Rs17.243 billion to Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiaries during the last ten months, an official has said. Out of these money orders, 97% – amounting to Rs16.642 billion – were paid within the prescribed period of time. According to the Pakistan Post official, the authority has evolved a complete web-based tracking and monitoring system for disbursement of funds for BISP. Under the Western Union Money Remittances Business during the period, Pakistan Post has received foreign remittances amounting to Rs9.248 billion.
