Riaz said that he apologises if his press conference had given the court an impression that he was targeting Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and his family.
He also submitted a plea in the court seeking that Dr Arsalan Iftikhar be summoned to the court.
Earlier, with a pocket-sized copy of the Holy Quran in his hand, an emotionally-charged Riaz had hurled serious, but contradictory charges against Justice Chaudhry and his son on an issue that is sub judice, and in defiance of an apex court order to speak to the media.
He had claimed that in some of the meetings he had with the chief justice, the incumbent registrar of the Supreme Court and Dr Iftikhar, the chief justice’s son, were also present.

The cheif justice is not God. Why can't we question him and hold him accountable for his actions?
A big snub for him, his master, and his supporters. shame on all of them for hatching such a dirty conspiracy against supreme court. Hope he has learned his lesson now.
@Uza Syed:
All along in your comments you have been defending the corrupt of likes Zardari and Gillani. Whats so special you changed your stance in case of Arsalan. He is legally, morally, and religiously responsible for his acts not his father. Moreover, his case is under investigation yet and you have declared him guilty. Your statement regarding Supreme Court's orders not to speak in media indicates your total ignorance about law. Whenever a case is under trial in any court, the matter is reckoned as sub-judice and the parties are not allowed to influence the courts decisions using any means other than the court proceedings, and this is a standard practice in every country including USA.
Though I absolutely detest the influence MR has on Pakistani institutions, I would not like to see people punished under contempt of court. We are setting some very dangerous precedents these days; in future these could be used to stifle dissent and freedom of expression in the society. Right of fair criticism of judicial decisions is available in all modern societies and our judiciary must learn to live with this.
I think that Leaked Video played an important role in turning this situation rapidly in favor of SC. This was bound to happen. People like Malik Riaz (and his puppeteers) cant suppress SC by their unlawful actions. On the contrary, believing that Supreme Court is a platform where people are totally sincere and patriot to our land, is incorrect. But at-least some people are trying to make Pakistan stable again. Hats off to that Video Maker.
Now court must focus on the real case which is the Arslan's corruption that how he got so much of money.
he certainly proved by doing this that he is not against or above the law and understands that law must be superior and no one can buy it at any cost but one has to respect what is written in our law and constitution, our corrupt govt should also adopt same approach or their end will be same as of their PM few days ago.
The court should remove the ban form Malik Riaz and let him tell the entire nation what he wants.
Anyone can talk about the parliament, president, PM, opposition leader, and ridicule them on almost anything, so why cannot someone come out in the public and talk about the most important thing, dispensing of justice.
He has shown proof, why can't he still talk about it. Obviously there is something which the court does not want the nation to know about.
Great The supreme court- Mafia and Chief Justice- Don have got rid of another one. Shameful what Iftikhar Chaudry has turned the SC into...All thugs.
Honourbale CJP dont accept apology and taech him a lesson the way u taught Gilani and Babar.
@Epsilon delta, very true ! Why else would he spend millions to free Pak. sailors taken hostage by Somalian pirates?
It seems that this vile man has the entire Pakistani state in his pocket and no one seems to be bothered about this.
@A J Khan: Yes Sir. You Speak the truth of my Heart.
He is living in fools paradise. He has to share his riches. Judiciary has become one of the biggest business in Pakistan, where justice is bought through highly paid Lawyers. I had been through the courts and I cursed my existance . I learnt a lesson that it is much easy to live with injustice rather than to get justice through judiciary in Pakistan.
One can take only so much of 'arm-twisting' and 'victimisation', no wonder this so called 'apology' is tendered. But, how does it change the facts of the case that:
(1) Chief Justice Iftikhar's son Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhry used whatever muscles he has and took millions of rupees and who does not know who his "muscle" is.
(2) While the son wasgoing around living a lavish and powerful life visible to the rest of the world his own father the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry did not know it and never got intrigued by such an unexplained / un declared source of income and life style afforded by his son.
(3) We all know and the facts remain on record that the man who was milked and relieved of his millions was ordered silence and gagged by an order of the SC---but that doesn't take away the facts from public memory. Some call it a 'grand-cover-up' and some call this is obstruction of justice.
To have respect one must give it to others first! I don't know how people satisfy themselves obtaining respect through repression?
Who could be the genius strategist that has strings of Malik Riaz?? O.o
@hasan: Not just him but majority of Pakistanis think the same. We're not used to our civlian institutions working properly and holding the powerful accountable.
Look at PAC and NAB. They should be independent of influence from politicians but instead they are used for carrying out political vandettas between rival parties. If not that, then they are used against the SC.
It is a matter of shame all round
A first Pakistani to tender his unconditional apology.
May Almighty Allah bless Malik Riaz.
@ Mirza
You are really an intelligent person, do you own this intelligence or taken from IMF.
Congratulations Iftkhar Ch. Another Down!
he is paid by the master whose tricks got failed. Let him face the justice.
I think Apex Court should also show some grace grant him a pardon in this contempt case with a clear warning to be careful in future, and mostly importantly court should remove the ban from Malik Riaz and allow him to speak of his heart (with all respect and humbleness to courts) to media. if court doesn't allow Malik to speak in public than there is really something that court doesn't want Pakistanis to be know..... though we all have sufficient clue of how can Malik flop the fairy tale of sainthood. Pity the nation!
His aplology....Not to be trusted
Does this man expect that because he has tendered an unconditional apology to the Supreme Court the matter will now disappear?
We are all cool. It is all in the family. The goals achieved and the tycoon tamed by the PCO SC.
Riaz is a pawn in a bigger game that someone else is playing
What else did you expect? For him, to stand by his words? :
