KARACHI: The trial of Hafizullah, who was charged on May 31 by the Anti-Terrorism Court-I for extorting Rs70,000 and possessing weapons, was adjourned for a second time as the defence counsel told the court that he needed to prepare for the case.

The court has rescheduled the hearing for July 21. It was earlier adjourned on June 6 after the defence counsel filed an application for adjournment. Hafizullah and his accomplices reportedly tried extorting money from a man in a market in Sohrab Goth last November; however, the victim managed to alert people nearby to the alleged crime taking place.

Two First Information Reports (806/2011 and 807/2011) were filed at the time.
