Army clinch Peshawar swimming event

HEC, Navy complete podium at Governor Cup.

KARACHI: Army clinched the 5th All-Pakistan Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Gold Cup after bagging a total of 15 gold, 11 silver and four bronze medals. HEC came second followed by Navy in third place.

The event saw Army bag two medals with Waqar Ahmed winning the 1,500-metre freestyle and Zohray Khan clinching the 50-metre breaststroke competition. HEC’s Sikandar Khan won two gold medals on the third day, helping his side clinch second place with a total of three gold and two bronze medals. Navy secured one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Wapda were placed fourth with six silver and 10 bronze medals ahead of Punjab and K-P. Sindh, Islamabad and Fata failed to win a medal.
