ISLAMABAD:

In the long summer months, it is a challenge for parents to devise fun activities for children.

Summer Art Studio by Minerva offers creative activities to keep children engaged, as an alternative to endless hours on playstation. Minerva offers weekly programmes which are a combination of art projects and fun activities for children including glass painting, clay work, paper art, jewellery-making and fabric painting, said a Minerva Chief Executive Sana Khalid on Monday.

Minerva initiated its first summer camp last July. Ever since, it has conducted various workshop for kids and has become one of the most favourite hangouts for aspiring artists between the ages of three and nine years, she added. The art studio is decorated with a variety of creative art projects to help provide ideas and inspiration to kids and motivate them to think creatively.

When it’s a participant’s birthday, the kids set up a table and prepare party decorations and give the birthday girl or boy a surprise during the snack break. “We make streamers and flowers and decorate the table and walls,” said a six-year old Asif.

Summer Art Studio will be extended till the end of July.
