Price control: ‘Stakeholders must be consulted’

DCO said that prices of essential items would be rationalised.

Stakeholders should be consulted while fixing prices of essential items, District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said on Sunday.


He was presiding over a meeting on price control.

MPAs Khwaja Imran Nazir and Chaudhry Shahbaz, Additional District Collector (general) Musarat Jabeen, assistant commissioners, administrators, district officers, traders of Akabri Mandi and representatives of Karyana Merchants Association were also present.

The DCO said that prices of essential items would be rationalised. He also constituted a sub-committee, giving representatives to traders and district administration.

The DCO also said that district administration will need cooperation from traders and shopkeepers in Ramazan. He said Ramazan bazaars will be set up to provide quality essentials to the citizens at fair prices. Traders assured the DCO of their cooperation.
