Illegal connections: Supply to hydrant, ice factory cut off

According to a KWSB press release, the drive against illegal water connections was started.

KARACHI: A team of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) cut off supply to an illegal hydrant and an ice factory in the Ibrahim Hyderi area on Sunday. According to a KWSB press release, the drive against illegal water connections was started after a suo motu notice by the Sindh High Court chief justice. The KWSB team, assisted by the police, demolished the illegal water hydrant near Junaid Floor Mills and disconnected two illegal connections of 3-inch diameter from the bulk water supply line. The water supply to Hanif ice factory in Madina Colony, Korangi was also disconnected and all pumping motors, electric panels, meters and valves were seized. Cases were registered against the owners of the hydrant and the ice factory.
