Volleyball: Bulgaria offers coaching facilities

KARACHI: Bulgaria has offered its coaching facilities to the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) after being ‘impressed’ with the team’s performance at the Olympics wildcard qualifiers.

Pakistan, who managed to win just one out of their three matches in Bulgaria, however, impressed the hosts with their game after which the country’s sports ministry offered its coaching facilities.

PVF President Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob confirmed an offer was made, which will help the team prepare for the eight-nation Asian Senior Championship that takes place in Vietnam this September.

“The Bulgarians made the offer after they were impressed with our players,” Yaqoob told The Express Tribune. “The Bulgarian sports minister contacted me when I was there and this is a great opportunity. The Pakistan Sports Board is not helping us get a foreign coach so this offer has come at the right time.”
