Taliban commander killed in Dir operation: Officials

DIR: Taliban commander Mullah Mansoor was killed after he succumbed to injuries received during clashes between security forces and terrorists, Express News reported on Sunday.

The commander had been shifted to a hospital in Afghanistan where he succumbed to his injuries.

Official and local sources confirmed the reports, adding that 34 terrorists were killed in the three-day clashes in the Dir Bala area.

Mullah Mansoor was associated with the Khaal area of Dir.

Earlier on Wednesday, at least eight militants were killed and several others injured in retaliation when they attacked the Malathar security check-post in Barawal tehsil of Upper Dir district.

Taliban has 100% sponcership of Afghan Government and operates from areas held strongly by ISAF.
