Explosion in Peshawar destroys juice store

Bomb disposal squad has reached the area and are investigating the incident. Cause of explosion is as yet unknown.

PESHAWAR: A juice shop was damaged in an explosion in Meena Bazaar area of the walled city on Friday night, police said.

Police said that the blast took place inside a juice shop at a time when the store was closed. The explosion destroyed the store’s shutter and damaged the shop.

The explosion created wide spread panic among the local inhabitants but there was no loss of life as the market was closed too.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached the site and canvassed area. An official of BDS Hukam Khan told The Express Tribune that they were inspecting the site of the explosion but were facing difficulty due since the area had sunk into darkness due to loadshedding.

“There is possibility of gas cylinder as well as UPS explosion but we are checking,” he said. Officials have been unable to ascertain the cause of the explosion so far.
