KARACHI:
The Sindh government’s relief department has dispatched 12,000 tents and other relief goods to some areas in Thatta and Badin districts, where people are being shifted to the relief camps, following forecast of heavy rains.

The adviser to chief minister on relief, Haleem Adil Shaikh said that the rain-hit people would be provided with all possible help. Due to previous wrong policies, 22 districts were severely affected in the past monsoon rains, he added.

He said that volunteers of the humanitarian cell of the Sindh relief department would distribute food and other relief items among the people of the affected areas.

He said that the negligence on the part of relief officials concerned would not be tolerated. He appealed to the donors, non-governmental organisations and youth to come forward and support the government in its relief work.
