Former Test cricketers Sarfraz Nawaz, Abdul Qadir and Ijaz Ahmed are part of the programme that is taking place in different cities and towns but Pakistan Cricket Board’s failure to take adequate measures in advance messed up proceedings at the National Stadium.
According to an estimate, over 1500 youngsters turned up to impress the scouting trio but the pitch was not ready and the nets area is not big enough to accommodate such large numbers. Many individuals who turned up early lost patience which resulted in complete chaos before police dispersed the crowd who also pelted the coaches with stones.
“These open trials were a ray of hope for us,” said Mohammad Shafaat who came from Malir Khokrapar to try his luck. “This was an opportunity for cricketers like me to show their skills. But they shouldn’t have cancelled the trials just because of a few boys.”
Mohammad Iqbal, meanwhile, called for proper management of the trials.
“Proper arrangements should be made because these days may become the most important days of our lives,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to an official close to the trials, Sarfraz was unhappy with the stadium’s management and said that he should have been informed beforehand if the facilities were not prepared.

Pakistan Cricket Board's management is not good In Karachi, We had gone for trials but we were very disappointed. management waste at the youth time. I am a fast bowler, my belong is from Karachi.
