hussain ifzal | 11 years ago | Reply Hafeez does deserve to be in the team on merits,neither as a batsman[he has scored only one 50 in the last 12 innings] nor as a bowler in the presence of Saeed&Rahman.Azhar can open the innings and Ayub should be given another chance in the middle order.He should justify his selection after playing domestic cricket.If great batsman Mohd Yousaf can be asked to prove his worth in domestic cricket why not Hafeez.

It is indeed surprising that a test match specialist, Faisal Iqbal, was ignored for first test and an untested Ayub was drafted. Faisal was indeed one of the best players against spin bowling. Moreover, It is also surprising that selectors ignored Hammad Azam, which is the best available talent in the country for 5day cricket.
