According to the code of conduct, transporting voters to polling stations using candidates’ cars will be restricted.
It also states that campaign expenditure should not exceed Rs1.5 million, while walk-chalking and the use of loudspeakers for campaigning and sloganeering is also banned.
The Supreme Court released the orders while announcing the verdict on a petition seeking the reduction of expenses in elections.
The petitioner, Workers Party Pakistan (WPP) President Advocate Abid Hasan Minto told the court that contesting in the elections was now very difficult for the common man as he has to contest against a candidate who has ample amounts of money to spend on a campaign.

Election commission should do its duty first. Law exists to take out the people. They should implement it. If crooks, brigands, murderers, thieves, liars and cheats are allowed to contest, the election commission is not doing its duty. They should screen the candidates. If election commission enforces the law, Pakistan would have a neat and clean parliament.
In the old rules MPA was allowed to spend 1 million and MNA 1.5 million for election campaigning. Reports in the news lately showed that average spending of one MNA/MPA for campaigning in the 2008 elections was around 8-9 million. Did the rule of law work then? It most certainly won't work even now!
mr hamza khan .when elections were held in the presence of ZARDARI and Nawaz ,his party lost only a person with learning disability will call musharafs elections fair HE LOST AND HIS REPLACEMENT will have the same end Chaudhry wil be removed by whatever government comes next as no political system can accept two governments,
Why transporting the voters to the polling station is banned? The voting is secret and that is sufficient. Why the EC wants to favor the affluent people (who have the means of transportation) over the poor? This keeps on proving "CJ Khan di akhri umang hey".
@Logic Europe:
that makes zero sense...he held two elections, regardless of what political parties did to try to rig them and slander him afterwards, they were relatively open and fair. how did he prevent people from choosing representatives? think before you write.
This is what Musharaf did, prevent people from choosing their representatives of choice he did not believe in people's choice so he created PMLQ
What is the difference between Military dictator and judicial dictatorship ?
Does any one care about or follow the laws in the land of the pure?!
Walk Chalking - You can't chalk while walk no more! Aww. Would have been better had they introduced fool proof digital voting system. Well lets appreciate this for time being (:
Internet is the best way of campaigning and PTI is leading from the front, using state of the art technology for its projection. I am thinking what will PMLN do?
@Web Desk: It is Wall-Chalking please and not Walk-Chalking
Two burning issues before the nation are dual citizenship and foreign holdings i.e. bank accounts and properties. All candidates must declare regarding above when they file their papers for election.
Define "common man"
How will they monitor and implement the rules?
Not a single code of conduct will be followed in Elections and i am sure about it.
whats walk-chalking?? I think you meant wall-chalking
