Top slot: Habib Bank appoints new president and CEO
Dar has been a career banker and brings with him a wealth of 30 years of banking experience in Pakistan as well as Africa and Europe. He is currently the Head of HBL’s International, Corporate and Investment Banking. Dar’s experience and well recognised qualities will facilitate the growth of HBL in years to come. His appointment is subject to applicable regulatory approvals.
The departing president and CEO Mahmood served the institution for over 12 years. His contributions in the development of the Bank’s franchise in Pakistan as well as in the international markets were recognised by the Board of Directors as an invaluable asset.
HBL Chairman Sultan Ali Allana applauded Mahmood’s leadership and exemplary dedication in the evolution and repositioning of the bank since 2000, which has resulted in HBL becoming the leading bank of Pakistan, in terms of its deposits and outreach to all sectors of the economy. With over 1,450 branches and presence in 25 countries around the world, during Mahmood’s tenure, HBL’s balance sheet has witnessed an unprecedented growth and the bank continued to expand its footprint in the rural and urban populations of the country.

I am son of a poor guy who worked all his life for the sake of me and my mother,he made me study and I did study hard in order to achieve something in my life.I am gold medalist from University of Peshawar BA, I did my MBA in finance from Institute of Business Administration Karachi (IBA) and was awarded for my positions over there.I also delievered lectures over there for few months.In 1978 I applied for HBL and I was appointed as a 2nd officer and still working in HBL.Its been over 31 years that am still working in this bank as Junior MANAGER.In these 30 years they gave me only 1 promotion.I feel like am also competent enough for this seat but the thing is nothing is fair over here.I feel bad when I think about myself ,I cannot sleep ,my degree ,my medial are all lying with me.Its of no use.Its a total waste.I wasted my precious 30 years for HBL and in return they have given me nothing except throwing me to the remote parts of Pakistan?why?Mr Dar if you're reading this ,open up our files and do something about us innocents who have no PR.We want to excel in our lives too.My time is little but i don't want any other kid to suffer like i did in my 30 years.I feel like a time will come when I will sell off my medal for good. Branches have been improved but the customer service and branch banking is still the same. It is still run like a government bank. Service is pathetic. Wish they could work on that now.

I really like the new look of HBL Plaza and some of their branches. They are world class. I hope the new President will continue modernisation of HBL
