RAWALPINDI: Court martial proceedings against Brigadier Ali Khan concluded on Tuesday. Brig Khan, along with four other military officers, was court-martialed due to his alleged ties with banned militant outfit Hizbut Tahrir (HuT).
Brig Khan was arrested in May last year, a day later four army majors were also arrested for alleged links with HuT. He is also accused of attempted mutiny.
Brig Khan’s lawyer Colonel (retd) Inamur Raheem confirmed that the court martial proceedings have concluded and the final verdict will be announced in a few days. He told The Express Tribune that five witnesses from the prosecutors and two from defence were present during the proceedings.
The military court, on completing the proceedings, will draft a written order and send it to the commanding officer.
During the proceedings, Brig Khan’s lawyer maintained that the proceedings were initiated against his client with malicious intent.
Earlier, Brig Khan had filed an application in the Lahore High Court seeking that the court martial proceedings against him be declared illegal. The bench was due to hear the plea today, but maintained that it had not received any reply from the Ministry of Defence, announcing the resumption of hearings after summer vacations.

people like him should be punished severely. One should follow the rule of institute, otherwise leave. and we people just follow the same, respect the law of state.
@Umer saif ullah: Allahs Law is best. And muslims will never accept anything less. Sharia must be the law of the Fort of Islam. Who and Which sect will define that Sharia? We need not worry for once we have the Khalifa, he will take care of that.

We muslims are been killing around the world we don't have any respects any longer khilafah vil be able til give os respect to follow what muslims won't. Why not be an ally all muslim in the old. This is not khilafat, but democracy in which every citizen is equal; he should have the right to appeal in civilian courts

May Allah help the truth to win because we on this side may never know what is the reality .If he is guilty, may he faces punishment but if he is not guilty then may he is saved by all the malicious attacks of others...

It is fanciful to think that there is only one Ali. There may be hundreds or thousands more. Only time will tell.
There is no question of malicious intent here. He argues that he was targeted because he was anti US and Mush, there are several ways this matter could have been handled i.e not getting promoted and being posted to non-operational position. He had links with a "Banned organization", he had been in Military long enough to know that this is not allowed, that's why they have Mosques in Cantonment areas where they make sure no Religious Org. can have any influence. No matter what we might accuse ISI of, the general Military staff(Army/Airforce/Navy) cannot have links to any kind of religious/political organization.
May Allah save Pak Army, I hope this is a step forward not a wrong decision..
