KARACHI: In a recent development for Sindh, it has been disclosed that deliberations are being held for handing over the province’s Home Ministry to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Express News reported on Tuesday.
Names of Raza Haroon and Syed Sardar Ahmed have surfaced for the Sindh home minister portfolio, sources said.
Earlier, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan was removed from his office for ‘reasons other than political’. He, however, refused to accept another portfolio in the provincial cabinet.
Presently, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah holds the post until a suitable replacement can be found.

Great news! A person like Syed Mustafa Kamal can fix the law and order situation in Karachi in less than 90 days. Nobody else is capable of doing this.

Not necessarily, the pneutral person should be called as Home Minister, he can be made Home Advisor.

Well its great if the power is going to be handed over to MQM guys, their era with musharraf as president was the most peaceful and joyful. personally i prefer MQM on the position of home ministry cause they guys can lookafter the Karachi law and order. no doubt

What happened to the tall claims he made when he visited the UK recently where vast majority of British Pakistanis and Pakistani expats welcomed him for what appeared to be his principled stand against arch blackmailer Altaf. It doesn't bother a bit to Mr A-Z. In other words he doesn't give a toss to Sindh. By handing over this important ministry MQM will have an access to the sensitive intelligence and whatever little success to nab their hit men will be lost.
Don't forget MQM was holding the home ministry on the fateful day of 12th May 2007. Everyone witnessed how the assassins of MQM were provided protection by disarming police coming from other parts of Sindh.

I think that the best solution is to give the administrative rights to those who are elected by people. For a long long time, the people elected by people of Karachi are denied the actual authority and power. This move is indeed seems to be a sensible one and it will lead the city towards peace and prosperity.
I hope that this should be a prolonged one and after elections, those who get the votes of people of Karachi should be given the rights and power to administrate the city.
