Bhakkar’s Shahanis to face NAB probe

Accused allegedly accumulated 46 plots in Bhakkar worth Rs60m under their servants’ name through illegal transfers.

The executive board of the National Accountability Board (NAB) under the chairmanship of Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari on Monday, decided to initiate an inquiry into embezzlement of public funds by former MPA Naeemullah Shahani and former Tehsil Nazim Bhakkar Aleemullah Shahani.


The accused allegedly accumulated 46 plots in Bhakkar city worth Rs60 million under their servants’ name through illegal transfers. Complaint verification was initiated following allegations of disproportionate wealth of the Shahanis above legal means of income.

During the same meeting, the board decided to file a supplementary reference against Nisar Husain Shah, former DG Livestock after investigations revealed another property worth Rs 11.94 million was purchased in the name of the son.
