Government should make early payments to the IPPs and enhance hydel generation as soon as possible.

LAHORE:
Pakistan Industrial & Traders Association Front Chairman Sohail Lashari has severely criticised the government’s decision to cut gas to the industrial sector for another day and demanded the government to withdraw the decision immediately in the larger interest of the industrial sector. He said that further curtailment of gas will push the textile industry to the wall that was already facing huge problems owing to the high input cost and high mark-up rates etc. Therefore, he said that the government should give priority to this sector. To overcome the huge electricity load shedding, government should make early payments to the independent power producers and enhance hydel generation as soon as possible.
