Jurisdiction: LHC returns petition to restrain NAB
Petitioner had not annexed the statement of NAB chairman that the NAB was not competent to investigate the case.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) registrar’s office on Friday returned a writ petition seeking directions to restrain National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from investigating the Arsalan Iftikhar-Malik Riaz Hussain case. The office noted that the petitioner had not annexed the statement of NAB chairman that the NAB was not competent to investigate the case. The petitioner, Ammanullah Bhatti, a resident of Sialkot, argued that the matter does not fall in the purview of NAB ordinance of 1999.
