HARIPUR: A newly-married woman died under what appeared to be a suicide on Friday, police said. Police quoted Muhammad Asif of Ladar Mand village as saying that he had married 20-year-old Saima about two months back and they were living a happy life. On Friday morning, when all the family members were attending a marriage ceremony in the village, Saima consumed a bottle of anti-louse lotion. The lotion is used on cattles. Asif said that his younger sister informed the family members about Saima’s deteriorating condition and they took her to the District Headquarter Hospital Haripur, where she died. Meanwhile, her family has demanded investigation into the case.
