Murder: Mason stabs an elderly man to death

HARIPUR: A mason allegedly stabbed an elderly man to death in Khalabat town here on Friday. Police said the motive behind the murder is told to be a monetary dispute. Police quoted Ashfaq Ahmed of sector No. 1 Khalabat township as saying that his paternal uncle Khan Bahadur, 70, had engaged Farman, a mason from the same locality, for construction of a house. The house was completed but some money remained outstanding against his uncle which he promised to pay later. However, on Friday morning Farman came to his uncle’s house and again pressed for payment and their conversation turned into altercation. As a result, Farman attacked the elderly man with a knife, injuring him seriously. The elderly man was shifted to Women and Children Hospital where he died.
