Justice Umar Ata Bandial issued the notice through the President’s principal secretary.
CJ also decided that a larger bench will hear the case from next hearing as a Constitutional and legal issue has been raised in the petition.
The petitioner’s counsel AK Dogar argued that the court should summon the President to explain his position, just as the Supreme Court called former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in contempt case.
At this, the CJ said the court had issued a notice to principal secretary and court will decide future course of action after the submission of reply by principal secretary. The CJ added that the court may summon the President if it so required.
Justice Bandial went on to say that the office of President is respectable and the LHC full bench had hoped that the President would disassociate himself from political activities, but this has not happened.
Prima facie contempt proceedings are initiated for not following courts’ orders.
The court will resume hearing by June 27.

Bringing back an already settled issue tells the intentions. Souls of Zia and his judges are back in different bodies.
Once again LHC in action, and Punjabi judges in conspiracies and vendettas. Shamelessness at it peak. For someone else I would regard this as a new low, but for them its just a new middle.
@bangash: @Suraj: I agree with both of you. However, these same PCO judges had no objection when a salaried chief of the army (who is not supposed to take part in politics) was his own boss as president and chief of his own party PML-Q which he has made as the King's Party. Of course these judges cannot see an elected politician to be the president. How could a person be elected if he/she does not belong to a party? Regards, Mirza
shame on judicial Mafia . . . !!!!
Noose is tightening (no pun intended) around Zardari,
Good work ! but why so late :(
@bangash: Exactly.. you are absolutely correct.. But, is it valid as per constitution??? it would be a BIG question.. Let's see what unfolds later on in the court of law..
Great!!! First bring contempt of court ruling from brother judges, declared them guilty and sacked from their office; no need to bring vote of no confidence or impeachment - novel way of summarily sacking and by passing the constitutional requirement. My question is for how long; military played their games and lost the path the country was to be, judges would loose the country! Who cares," we will beat zardari - yes bros"
@Expatriate: We are not stupid; just wicked and cynical. Thanks for the advise anyway.
For an outsider it seems that there is a huge gap of communication between the government instituitions including judiciary.Without undermining the constitution a way must be found to diffuse the explosive situation.Outside world may become reluctant to deal with govt machinery,if things deteriate further.
