KARACHI: Pakistan golfer Muhammad Shabbir Iqbal is keen to play in the Asian Professional Golf Tour (APGA) provided he gets the funding. “It’s my dream to play on the Asian tour,” said Shabbir. “But featuring in the APGA is very expensive and without sponsors it’s almost impossible.” He said the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) was offering him just a ticket for taking part in Asian tour which was not sufficient. He also said that the Sindh Golf Association (SGA) promised to sponsor him for the APGA, but they never contacted him. The 34-year-old golfer, who had the honour of representing Pakistan in World Golf Championship in China three years ago, said he was capable of bringing laurels and glory for the country by appearing in Asian tour.
