GILGIT: The Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) General Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, Ghulam Muhammad, was sacked on Thursday. He was replaced by Aftab Haider, a PPP stalwart who is currently an adviser to the G-B chief minister on forests and wildlife. A notification to this effect has been issued by Political Secretary to PPP Co-Chairperson Rukhsana Bangash. According to sources, the decision to sack Muhammad was made on the recommendation of Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah for the former’s strained ties with the G-B Governor Pir Karam Ali Shah. Both Shah and Muhammad belong to Ghizer Valley.
