FAISALABAD: City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana said on Tuesday that strict action would be taken against any official found keeping suspects at private cells instead of the police stations. CPO Kamyana said he had received complaints that several station house officers (SHOs) were keeping suspects for interrogation at private premises. This practice, he said, was meant to avoid being caught by bailiffs sent by courts to recover the suspects. The CPO said the practice was illegal and should immediately be stopped. He said strict action would be taken against any police official found torturing suspects at such private cells. He also took notice on a rise in sale of drugs in the city and ordered the police to control the illegal activity.
