Environmental hazard: Action to be taken to curb pollution

He called for the protection of mangroves and to take steps for cleaning the river Indus, Keenjhar Lake and beaches.

KARACHI: Sindh Environment Minister Shaikh Muhammad Afzal said on Tuesday that action would be taken against the owners of noisy and smoke-emitting vehicles.  He said this while presiding over a meeting discussing environmental issues.

Meanwhile, the minister also directed that action be taken against those involved in the selling of ‘substandard mineral water’ and vegetables grown in polluted and contaminated water. He called for the protection of mangroves and to take steps for cleaning the river Indus, Keenjhar Lake and beaches.
