Target killing: Pashto singer Ghazala Javed, father gunned down in Peshawar
According to details, Ghazala was visiting a beauty parlour in Mohalla Nuo, Dabagari for pre-show preparations. When she left the saloon with her father, two unknown armed men riding a motorbike fired on her.
Ghazala received six bullet wounds and her father four. The singer was pronounced dead at arrival at the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
SP city Asif Iqbal said that initial reports suggested that her ex-husband, Jahangir, from whom she had gotten a divorce after only six months of marriage, could be responsible for the attack.
Ghazala’s mother is lodging an FIR at the Shah Qabool station in the Walled City area of Peshawar.

Lets be with what Ghazala was or what she was doing now. Besides everything she was a human being and a female. Killing of females was against the cultural values of pushtun society. But one wonders what has happened to us now. Where this intolerance came from? Ghazala Javed was the most beautiful and melodious singer among her contemporary female pashtun singers. She had a melodios and sweet voice. Pashto music has suffered a huge loss. She will always be remebered for her decent looks and sweet voice and the contribution she made to pashto music. May she rest in peace along with her father and the assasins be punished severely.

You dont know Taliban even also listen to these pushto singers... you dont know how pushtoons both elders and young listen to pushto music and they respect it a lot more than they will give it to any other artist.

people always talk and blame the mindset for such brutal and inhuman action, but who had engineered this type of mindset! actually our state functionaries and more prominently Mula-Militrya has nurtured and sponsored such type of mindset vide educational system, defacing of culture and other subliminal ways. the bade side is that the problem is overwhelming and contagious because of absence of corrective measures.
Regarding Ghazala Javed! she was a decent, beautiful and precious human being, her soul shall be in rest and peace.

The singers and artists are the people who project love and harmony and preach tolerance. By silencing them, the killers want to spread fear and then impose their ignorant view points on the rest of the society.

In my personal opinion this is cowardly action killing of innocent singer she was a best pashto singer,so Pakistani policemen have to investigate to find those people who has killed that innocent singer.
That is so sad to hear i personaly was never a fan of hers but noboday had the right to kill her. Whats happening to us? why have we become so numb to such incidents why no one takes an action? i am sure she will be remembered for two days tops nd will be forgotten in no time... These type of incidents only started recently (in last 4-5 yrs) .. there are dozen other well respected Pushto female singers e.g Zar Sanga, MS Qazalbash, Gulnar Begum, Kamar Gula, Shakila Naz and many others who has served Pashto music for many decades and their melodious voices were loved by every one alike. Our culture was very tolerant un till Genral Zia played a havoc with it by bringing criminals from around the world for their own geopolitical agendas.
Rest in Peace both of you father and daughter , it is so barbaric, it is beyond me.As a Pukhtun myself I will say this is not the Pukhtun way to kill unarmed people and on the top of that a woman. Is there any chivalry in by gunning down unarmed citizens. She was an artist and when art dies in any nation that nation dies with it.

Well Aftab Sherpao recently said that anit-Pashtoon elements are behind the terrorism in the province. Just like all other politicians, when their personal attraction fades away they come up with some lingual and ethnic slogans, just like the one sherpao made. He may actually blame the above killing by saying "the murder was actually to deprieve Pashtoons from their culture" or something like that. The day four provinces will forget their ethnic and lingual boundries, there will be no more chaos in the country. Simple as that!

Two years ago about 100 hundred Ahmadis were massacred when they were performing Friday prayers. Yes, people were killed while praying and the CM + governor did not bother to visit any venue of carnage.

It is very fool to kill someone who serves the society. I will say that a shinning moon drowned on this unlucky nation. She had a great voice and it is sad to hear such a tragic death of the talent. She was from humble background but proved her talent in meager resources. She was facing family issues for some time especially after marriage. Safety and security of the province is down the drain and it is not first incident either. People get advantage of situation, family members or outside.

As far tolerance is concerned, in pushtoon society there is no such case as of Mukhatan Mai in Punjab. So you better not try to be narrow minded. Cheers:)

I think people will be quick to blame it on Taliban but i will not. I have seen the mentality of the people there and unless and until the mindset will not be changed it will remain like that. So change the mindset of the people and everything will be fine then. Blaming extremist is not the solution. In Punjab may be there will be extremists but singers and artists are not gunned down and the reason is that people are tolerant in Punjab.
