Seeking change: FATA lawmakers highlight problems
Joint Parliamentary Group Leader says conditions in tribal area had been raised at every forum but to no avail.
ISLAMABAD:
FATA Joint Parliamentary Group Leader Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, along with other members of the group stated that the coalition had not been taken into confidence about various policy decisions and their concerns about FATA had not been addressed properly by the government. He said that conditions in the tribal area had been raised at every forum but to no avail. He said thousands of people were forced to migrate to other areas from their native villages due to loss of lives and property. He also condemned drone attacks in the area and demanded that compensation be given to the affected families on priority basis as well as dialogue initiated with FATA elders.
