Culture: Lok Mela ends

Culture Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki distributed shields amongst the artisans.

LAHORE: The Lok Mela organised by Lok Virsa at Jallo Park marked its final day on Sunday. The six-day festival displayed the work of 50 artisans who make Multani tiles, clocks, block prints, toy trucks, carpets, mud utensils and bone jewellery. Culture Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki distributed shields amongst the artisans. She said that the Lok Virsa team deserved praise for holding such a colourful cultural festival in the city. She praised the people who attended the festival. Khalid Javed, executive director of Lok Virsa, said that the Lok Mela was renowned around the world.
