Snooker: Unheralded Imran downs Sultan

Imran downed Sultan with frame scores of 64-38, 20-75, 9-75, 29-61, 61-37, 55-41, 75-4.

Unheraled cueist Mohammad Imran recorded a thrilling win over third-seed Sultan Mohammad 4-3 in the Jubilee Insurance 3rd Ranking Snooker Championship, while Mohammad Asif and Asjad Iqbal, the tournament’s top two seeds, recorded comfortable victories.


In the biggest upset of the day, unseeded Imran downed Sultan with frame scores of 64-38, 20-75, 9-75, 29-61, 61-37, 55-41, 75-4.

Meanwhile, Asif downed Mohammad Nazeer 4-2, while second-seed Asjad, who went down to Shehram Changezi the previous day, found his rhythm to brush aside Shahid Aftab 4-1. Shehram continued his
good form to prevail over Vishan Gir 4-0.

In other matches, fourth-seed and former Asia number two Mohammad Sajjad registered a comfortable win over former national champion Khurram Agha 4-1. Sindh’s Bilawal Agha defeated Umair Alam 4-1, while Mohammad Afzal beat Jawed Ansari 4-3. Mohammad Ishtiaq downed Farhan Noor 4-3.
