Snooker: Changezi continues fairytale comeback

Stuns 2nd-seed Asjad 4-2 in snooker event.

Shahram Changezi’s fairytale comeback continued in the Jubilee Insurance 3rd Snooker Ranking Championship when he stunned second-seed Asjad Iqbal 4-2 yesterday.


Despite trailing 2-1 at one point, Changezi kept his cool to win three straight frames that saw him seal the win 63-22, 0-68, 15-58, 51-37, 90-25 and 78-05. In another match, Khurram Agha struck the highest break of tournament so far, a 134, on his way to a 4-0 rout of Naveen Perwani. Agha prevailed 135-0, 83-27, 115-0 and 61-38.

Meanwhile, Sohail Shehzad toppled third-seed Sultan Mohammad 4-2 while Mohammad Asif put his dismal tournament behind him with a 4-0 win over Mohammad Javed 4-0. Sharjeel Mehmood got a 4-2 victory against the former Asian number two Mohammad Sajjad while youngster Mohammad Majid piped Mohammad Nazeer 4-3. Old-fox Mohammad Yousuf defeated Mohammad Afzal 4-2 while Abu Saim won 4-3 against Farhan Noor.
