Who will investigate?: ‘Case does not fall under NAB’s mandate’
A case between two individuals and has no financial implications on national exchequer, says NAB chairman

As the apex court washed its hands off a case involving the chief justice’s son and a property magnate, the country’s top watchdog on Thursday said the case does not fall under its mandate.
National Accountability Bureau Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari said the Arsalan Iftikhar case does not fall under the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999.
“It is a case between two individuals and has no financial implications on the national exchequer,” the NAB chairman said in a statement. “It seems that the case does not come under the NAB ordinance,” he added.
The NAB chairman, however, ordered his legal team to look into the matter.
In case a complaint is registered with the NAB, the case will be dealt under the provisions of NAO 1999, the statement added.
Earlier, NAB spokesperson Zafar Iqbal Khan had said that the bureau is not investigating any corruption case against Bahria Town and its former chief Malik Riaz.
