FAISALABAD:

The Council of Loom Owners Association (CLOA) has threatened with a protest movement from Monday (June 18) if number of hours of power outages at power looms were not reduced by the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco).

The announcement was made by CLOA chairman Waheed Khaliq Ramay on Thursday.

Ramay said the CLOA members would stage sit-ins in front of FESCO offices from Monday if the company failed to take action in the matter.

He said the duration of power outages at the power looms had increased overtime.

He said the duration of power outages at power looms had now reached between 14 and 20 hours a day. He said half of the power looms in the city had shut down owing to the worsening power crisis. He added thousands of people had been left without their jobs.
