Who told you that?? Who told you parliament is supreme?? Pakistan is a country where like most of the democratic countries trichotomy of power exists. Every institution has constitutional and more than that, moral authority and keeps a check on the other institution. And if one institution fails to perfom as per its mandate, other assumes the power of the failing institution. In Pakistan the same is going on!! Parliament and Executive are hand in glove with each other and not performing their duties. Thats why we see judicial activism and judiciary toeing on the boundries of other institutions authorities!!
@fahad
In next elections, rigging is a must, as per the last ones. What can an independant CEC do when all the machineray of the Govt does not support it. Same as independant Judiciary is doing?? Which has all the moral power but no executive authority to implement its decision and who has to tolerate the imputence and a lot of illegalities of the Govt as it is being politicized. No my dear, the game will no more be played as per constitutional niceties........
And this time, the army and agencies wont let international establishment play their role in Pakistani Elections!! Nothing which PML-N does or intends to do has any bearing on Pakistan's future.
According to the constitutions of most democratic countries including Pakistan the parliament is supreme. Now it has given its decision, are we still going against the parliament and constitution in the PCO SC? Let the provincial assemblies should all pass the resolution in support of elected parliament and its leader to expose the role of CJ.
answer is not that simple. if N resigns then that will give PPP a free ride towards the elections. they will chose one of their own as chief election commissioner then you can forget about free elections. interm govt is another issue PPP want their own people in the interm govt. if that happens ull see another 5 years of ppp. so N has to be in the parliament to stop them.
@Daniyal Alvi
Answer is simple. PML-N is enjoying dual taste in one ticket. They are having government in Punjab (60 % Pakistan). Enjoyed federal government 3.5 years.
Now the question is what can PML-N do to stop the Govt any thing if they remain in the parliments?? Now why dont they resign and go to streets to start protests against this incompetent Govt instead of clinging to their seats which benefits only their personal objectives and pays them lucrative salaries!
