IHC, district bar lawyers to boycott Malik Riaz, Bahria Town cases
The lawyers also decided to ban Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s counsel Aitzaz Ahsan and Malik Riaz’s counsel Zahid Bukhari from entering both bars while unanimously approving a resolution expressing unity with the judiciary.
The special bench of the Supreme Court is set to classify on Thursday (today), the nature of the case involving businessman Malik Riaz and Chief Justice Itikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s son Arsalan Iftikhar.
The rules of the proceedings to follow in the case would be laid down after the special bench – comprising Justice Jawad S Khwaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain – decide whether it is a dispute between two individuals or a deeper conspiracy against the judiciary.

@Khalq e Khuda: Malik Sahib is by his own admission an uneducated person who barely passed his matric exam, he has no clue whats really going on, he is obviously being used. As for the CJ you cannot just ask him to go home just because some feels like hurling accusations at him. What happens if some one else wants to do the same to the interim CJ, it will be a never ending circle.Now the media has also been tainted too. Let the court do its job , there are lots of judges there who are mature and educated and experienced enought to handle this properly.
Its a good news for Malik Riaz. It means, cases against will not be decided soon. Land grabber wants to delay justice and Lawyers are doing exactly what he wants.
@Khalq e Khuda: The bar boycotting Malik Riaz and Bahria Town cases is regrettable as any person has a right to defend him/herself in a court of law, no matter if the person is a killer of 1000 people. BUT I totally disagree with you in regards to your comments on judiciary (to be tought a lesson). Boycott action of bar should be condemned but this has got nothing to do with judiciary. Moreover, you are defending a person (Malik Riaz) who has been used as a tool by most corrupt govt (PPP) in history of Pakistan. Since the govt plot seems to be failing (to malign CJ), even Aitzaz Ahsan has refused to be a lawyer for Mr Riaz now and Mr Bukhari has also shown his inability to act as a lawyer on behalf of Malik Riaz. Have you not seen conflicting statements from Malik Riaz, he has been changing his statements every now and then. This poor guy was simply used by PPP for their vested interests. Shame on PPP.

All the lawyers need to rally behind the judiciary! The Attorney General's performance in the court today proves there is a conspiracy against the court and the govt is on board as well as the establishment! IK quite rightly said that this is battle between status quo and anti-status quo!

Instead of asking the Chief Justice to go on leave till the Court decides the cases the lawyers are boycotting the person making allegations with proof. Instead of taking a stand for rule of law the Supreme Court judges are holding huddled meetings without and declaring support for a corrupt PCO Chief Justice!
This judiciary needs to be taught a lesson! They didn't took PCO oaths because they weren't offered or they would have done it a thousand more times!
The parliament should pass a Constitutional amendment to impeach the entire higher judiciary and remove this corrupt lot in one stroke!
Since all the judges to Supreme Court are being appointed from Lahore, Islamabad and adjoining areas: this vote of support is no surprise!
